Default Do metal shift ***** get too hot?

So I'm looking to get the OBX Speedstar because its relatively cheap and it looks cool and I have to get rid of that nasty rubbery/plasticy OEM thing. I have 15% tint on all my widows, however I'm still worried that it might get too hot to touch if the car is sitting in the sun all day. So, you guys with metal ***** please let me know.
-Thanks

I have the OBX shifter, and sometimes it does get too hot. I have no tint but sometimes use a sun shade, but it hasn't left a mark like in Home Alone.

Yeah I have a metal ball ****, it gets very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. In the winter time I just put the original plastic one back on since i cant stand the cold and during the summer I just deal with it being burning hot! LOL

I have 5% tint all the way around, and 35% on the entire windshield.. my shift **** will get hot but it's not too bad.. it usually cools down from the A/C or wind in about 5 minutes or less.

do what i do... put a sock over it. I know it looks corny, but you can always just use the sock for a couple of minutes until it cools/warms and then just take it off and put it in the cubby.

< - in las vegas, 15% tint, with razo ****, most of it is wrapped in a carbon fiber sticker, but the metal pieces around and on top get HOT! usually use a wrist band til it cools down, which takes about 15 minutes on average in the middle of the day.

I have a flint mica tC with the speedstar ball shift ****... In the winter it's freezing cold. In the summer it's unbelievably hot. So I'm thinking about ordering the TRD leather shift ****. We'll see how much is in the parts piggy bank though.

I took mine off because it got too cold in the winter. I put in the TRD Quick Shift kit and use the leather one that came with that - much better! You can buy just the leather wrapped **** and I would suggest that.

pssshhhh ... I just use whatever had I'm wearing that day. If I have an extra hat in the car I toss it on the shifter when I park it, it's usually tolerable when I get back or when I get off work. If its not, or if I only ahve the hat I'm wearing, I toss it on the **** and shift away

I do the same thing. I have a wristband that sits around the boot of the shifter, I use it for when the shifter gets to hot.

Default Dude It gets hot but its worthit

Hey I dont repsond to any forums because im not a team player lol, but i installed a LED shift know (blue) and i parked my car in the school parking lot and it was in the sun for about 5 - 6 hours. I came back and shifted in reverse to get out and i burnt my hand If you have air onditioning that is good (mine gets cold automatically the second you turn on the car) let is sit for about a minute an djust cover it with something so its shaded, itl be just fine metal cools fast if its sectiond off.
