Default Does 3rd gen nano work with pioneer ipod control?

I just got a 3rd gen nano on Saturday and found out that it does not work with video docking station I got for my b day. Aparently they now have component video out, and use a different docking station. So I'm not sure if the Pioneer I pod control will work with it, it has the same plug just.

I'd also like to know if the new nano will "fit" into the Ipod system that I got with my car

I would help if you were a little closer.

I would think that it would work seeing as how they would not completely screw over their manufacturers who they get money from for royalties.

I'd assume that the newer functions may just use one of the unused wires on the dock connector.

pretty much all ipods should work fine with the stock headunit with the ipod connection. the only one that people have been having problems with is the iphone which i'm guessing the new ipod touch might have problems as well

If you are using an aftermarket HU that does video no it will not work but for just music yes it will work.

yea it sucks. i have a d3 with the ipod cable and my whole integration is shot. Called apple and they tried to sell me the docking station with av. called pioneer and they said that it will probably be fixed via a firmware update from apple. this sucks.

yea - it does suck that apple changed it. Also sucks that my ipod just crapped out on me and I have a D3. Not sure if I want to pay money for an ipod that I can't play videos on with the D3.

It will probably take some time for Apple and others to straighten this out. No one is going to want to buy all their AV accessories from Apple...give it a little time.

and no bashing - the upgraded UI is pretty sweet, just wish they would have made it backwards compatible with existing accessories.
