Im going to buy and install the cathodes to the footwells and I was thinking of tapping into the cig lighter for power. The problem is that I already have 4 wires from the cig lighter running to the LEDs in my vents. Is it ok to use the cig lighter as a power source anymore? Thanks in advance.

 

I personally would run an 18ga wire from the batt back with a fuse.. Thodes often take up various amounts of Amperage.. atleast from my expierence.. it wouldn't be fun to keep blowing the fuse for the cig lighter if they're pulling more then it could hold.

I have the blue 4" cathodes from oznium. My set-up is the little black box, cant remember the actual name for it, is behind the carpeting underneath where the airvents and cd player are. Double sided tape is keeping it in place under there. Black wire (ground) from the box is connected to a plate behind the gas pedal, took out a bolt, put a connector on the wire, reattached the bolt. It works but isnt the easiest bolt to pick. Red wire (positive) from the box is going to a switch, the other wire from the switch (power wire) has an inline fuse of 10 and is connected the spot 13 in the fuse box under the dash. Used the connector with the two prongs on it to just plug into the fuse box. Sorry for my lack of electrician lingo. Used the double sided tape that came with them to attach them under the dash. Like the 4" better because they are easier to mount out-of-sight.
