Default Double Din USB Input Question

Does anyone know of a double din deck with USB input that you can plug in a USB hard drive and play movies off of it? I was looking at the new kenwood one but after an email to them I was told its only possible to play MP3s from the USB hard drive. Any ideas?

Thanks

A carputer would probably be the way to go. I'm not aware of any head units that can play movies from a USB input. Nifty idea though.

Yes, as exige said, carputer would be the best way. Take a look at my thread for some more info.

my original plan was to do a carputer and I actually have all the parts and its half done. I've since changed my mind and am going to wait until I can either get a slim blu-ray drive or until the new mac mini's come with blu-ray drives. So I wanted something temporary that I could have so I didn't have lug DVDs around and just put in my portable hard drive.

If anyone is interested I did find that the new pioneer deck should play movies from a SD card or a USB hard drive/thumb drive.

To bad the screen is so small =(

a lot of them have USB in but only play music off of a USB drive. They will only play movies off a iPod. Do you know if the alpine one plays movies off a usb drive? from what I read it doesn't.

oh sorry, read it wrong...I'm not sure, but the new Alpine W505 supports Divx. The manual on their site doesn't work so it's hard to tell. http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/supp...lname=iva-w505

I could be getting them mixed up with the Kenwood one but from what I remember it only decodes Divx from a CD or DVD.
