Dynamat and tC Q..
Rammat is pretty good stuff, Used it back in the day. No complaints really at all.
There is a pretty decent article meant to a little roughly dispell some of the myths with deadening albiet a little biased here ; http://www.icixsound.com/vb/article.php?a=1
Might be a good read. Sorry for the 20 links to icix. I just know where to find a lot of information there

Come on man, the whole brand is an economy line-up. So why dump 300 dollars into 100 square feet of deadening for your economy car??
I got edead. you could call it the "scion" of deadeners.
well our cars might be economy line priced but they look alot better than many economy and mid-range rides... so yea I think its worth it to put top of the line into my car... thats why I have JL audio...

I'd put JL on the Scion level in terms of quality-- good, but by no means the best. JL as top of the line? Probably not in the top 10. And choosing Dynamat over something like eDead beacuse "they were the first" or what-have-you is just silly. Unless the company is paying you to use the product, it's your responsibility to use the best possible product at the best possible price. Otherwise you're just wasting your money and time.
well who would you put in the top ten b/c the only companys that can think of are diamond, eclipse, focal, alpinef1status, and some mb quarts. If you can seriously make a list of 10 different companies that are better than JL please do so I would be interested in seeing seriously.
ok well out of the easily acessible in america... those are the best. Also some of those look pretty crappy to be the best not to mention if they were so good and most likely expensive out the yin yang you would think they would have a site that didn't look like it was made using geocities.

Dynamat is like an "authentic" japanese bodykit: you pay 3 times as much for the sticker on the side of your car.
I installed some edead today, and it's great stuff. I'll report back when it's all dried and cured (~18 hours). As of right now, the doors don't make that awful hollow noise anymore- they slam with a satisfying thud. The smell of the v3 over the mat is sort of fruity, not highway-y.
I did all four doors and 2 door panels in my xB with 2 super thick coats and ended up using less than a gallon. I'll be using another gallon when I pull out the seats, panels, and carpet and do the rest of my interior.

I spent all day yesterday working on this.
Took 2 hours to pull the entire interior out of my xB, I did a single layer over EVERYTHING in the car, inside of all panels and outside, up the pillars, across the roof, etc.
So far I have used about 100 sq ft, but I bought 120 so I will double up on the wheel wells and maybe try and get more further up on the firewall.
I used Edead V1SE from elemental designs.
I also bought 3 gallons of V3 which should be enough to go over everything again with a few layers. (the v3 is a paint on liquid sound deadener)
eDesign gives Scion Life forum members a 20% discount on top of the $1 per square foot pricing.
For 120 sq ft of V1SE, 3 gallons of V3 (equivalent of 150 sq ft of coverage), and shipping my order came out to about $320.
I will post pictures of the finished product, my car is sitting out in the garage right now with no interior! I have a few days where I won't have hardly any time to work on the car, but hopefully by next Tuesday it will be all finished and back together and I can post a good review.
So far with the doors covered inside and out with just the V1SE when you shut them it sounds like a 80,000 Mercedes door. That is even without the door panels back on!
I am loving it so far, the V1SE was a lot easier to work with than I was expecting. I have been a hardcore DIY audio guy for a long time, but this is my first experience with any sound deadening products.

Maybe you can help me out on this...if you bought v1se, and have used 100 square feet, what are you going to use the v3 on?
I'm nto trying to be a jerk or anything, I was just wondering if there was something I'm missing, like the v3 being best used for certain parts or something.
Thanks
Dave

Just for overkill.
I am going to paint v3 over the v1se, over everything, plus to make things look alot more uniform, I am also going to use the v3 to paint on the backside of all the plastic panels before I reinstall them, so that I can prevent any rattles from the interior panels themselves.
I got ansy and ran out to the garage and snapped some pictures and took a short clip of the sound of shutting one of the doors, I am uploading them now..... Will link in a moment....

Please ignore the paper scraps from the v1se that are still in the car. Also ignore the wires all over the place, those are the wires for my stereo that I didn't feel like removing the rest of the way.
This is still a work in progress, but I just wanted to show off what I had done so far.
I will also post finished pics when I am done in a week or so.

Of course, I'm biased as I have two E8A's myself and have been very happy with them.
on the topic though, I used Raammat myself and was quite pleased with it. I applied it after heating it up with a heatgun and it stuck fine, I only had one piece which didn't stick (due to me inadequately cleaning the area first). I'm still not convinced that Dynamat is superior, especially since there was a time when you could order the same exact stuff that Dynamat used (albeit minus their name stamped on it) from McMaster-Carr back a few years ago.
