Brake fluid level is low! You might need brakes too.

just letting you know that it is not an e-brake light. it is a brake light meaning that something is going on with your brake system; low brake fluid or having your e-brake on. some people take great offense when people call it that.

but yea, if you have never changed out your brake pads, its time too. over time, the pads get thinner and thinner in which the brake system needs to use more fluid so that the pads make contact with the rotor. when you replace them, the extra fluid that was being used goes back into the reservoir.

also, dont fill your brake fluid until you replace your pads since you will over flow when you do replace them and brake fluid and paint dont play nice.

hope this helps.

ps, before someone else tells you, use the search as this question pops up a lot. i know its not the best search engine but its something.

My car is doing the same thing to me right now. I don't feel like replacing my pads yet especially because they don't make noise yet. It especially hates me in the cold. My brake fluid is getting low but my brakes are responding well enough for me.
