I have two 12" Lanzar HRW124D which are pretty cheap but they will have to do for now with the low budget. Here is a link...http://www.lanzar.com/itempage.asp?MODEL=HRW124D

I would find the subs I like first, then go for the amp.

find an amp that is close the the RMS range of the sub/speaker ,you can go over the RMS most of the time (ex 1000 wattsub ,1200watt amp)

that amp is a decent amp but it will draw alot of current and not to efficent being a class a/b. Look for a class d . you can prob find a 1000 watts class D amp on ebay for the same price as the lanzar

also the subs final impedance(ohm load) should be your deciding factor in what amp you get. For example if you had 2 subs that were dual 4 ohm...you could have a 1 ohm load or a 4 ohm load depending on wiring.

But my Subs will have a Max Power of 2000 Watts... So if I only get a 1200 Watt Amp, wont I be losing 800 watts???

If your subs see 2000 watts, they'll pop. Max power is the mechanical limit of power a sub can handle. Just match up RMS numbers.

a 2000 watt max sub should be getting about 1000-1500rms. if you go less its not a big deal.

boss is not that great. Id say find a used amp on ebay that is atleast name brand. Most boss/legacy/pryamid amps do not put out the wattage they are rated for.

Ex.. Legacy amps say 2200max. They actually put out 70 or so watts. The 2200max is probably max with the amp getting hit by lightning.

Your looking for RMS not max wattage, Max is what a sub/amp can do for a short period of time before they are cooked.

Whats your budget on an amp?? What are the ratings on the voil coils(ohms) and how many voil coils total??

x2!

If you cant afford it, dont go cheap and just save up longer. It will be worth it in the long run.....

Old phrase: Garbage In, Garbage Out

If you buy a cheap amp/sub you will most likely have to replace it more than a better setup, which will cost you more in the end.

OK, well Ill do the math...

My Subs = $100 (1000RMS)

My Amp = $120 (1000RMS)

Total - $220

eD Subs = $250 (1000RMS)

eD Amp = $275 (600RMS)

Total - $525

So lets just say My Subs break every 6 Months and eD break every 12 Months. That means even if mine break twice as often as eD(Which I doubt they will), mine will still be cheaper.

Now look...I know I sound like a total idiot here, but what am I missing???

That it's going to sound like sh*t?

My friend ignored me on the same issue, and got a 700watt amp for $150, and two 12" Audiopipe subs for $160 that take 1000 rms EACH. Although the subs don't look nice, they are still amazing, but that amp is a piece of junk.

Good products don't come cheap, unless they're used and taken care of.

just because it says 1000 watts rms doesn't mean its rated for that. FAR from it. If you want to get in a power argument lets go this route.

eD rates their stuff about 10% under what they really run + they rate it at 12 V not the 14.4 V you typically get when you car is on. and you don't add the subs together to get the rms it runs. But zebman lets just let him waste his money.

oh and ed wont break every year. they HAVE A 5 YEAR Warentee . i doubt your little 100 dollar subs have that. but hey if you wanna waste your money on ____ go ahead but let me just say that you'll be regreting it if you dont.

but if you don't know what a good sound system sounds like go for the cheap ____.

good ____ isn't cheap and cheap ____ isn't good
