Default Eclipse CD3000 Aftermarket HeadUnit

What do you all think of this HU for the price, based on quality? Eclipse CD3000

Several Views of the same HU:

Eclipse Website: http://www.eclipse-web.com/cd/cd3000.html

Circuit City Website: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Eclip...oductDetail.do

Crutchfield: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-crXlEfu...00&i=099CD3000

If anybody is aware of how to go about enabling the steering wheel controls with the eclipse cd3000 aftermarket HU, please let me know with as much detail as possible. Thanks!

wow, i was just looking at this HU. However I'm leaning towards the eclipse CD4000 because it has an AUX input. Can someone tell me if that will allow me to use the AUX input in the center armrest? I've also heard that this eclipse unit will be able to connect to the steering wheel controls straight out of the box w/o using a PAC. And its only a $100 more than the cd3000. i dont mind paying that if i'm able to use both steering wheel controls and the aux input.

I can help you there. Neither can connect directly, you will need the swi-ecl to connect the steering wheel controls.

You will lose the aux in the center console, but I (for example) have a sirius receiver that I have hooked up to the aux in the center console, and when I put in the cd3000, I will rewire it to the back of the cd3000 which i'm told is possible as an aux.

Really? I was pretty sure that I read a post around here on the forums that said that higher end Eclipse models (i think CD3000 and up) were able to connect directly to the steering wheel controls out of the box? It had something to do with toyota owning part of Eclipse. If someone can shed some light on this..

The upper level eclipse, like the DVD units can connect directly. But after speaking to eclipse on the phone, they told me that the stock HU would have to be a fujitsu, not a pioneer. Otherwise we need the adapter. Give them a call, they are VERY helpful.

For the auxiliary port, you will need the aux105. Here is a link:

well i know for the AVN5435, all plugs went in like factory, steering wheel controls worked without changing or setting anything, right out of the box!

The new line up of eclipse radios is manufactured by the same company that makes JVC's Heads and will not plug directly in you will need the adapter to retain SW controls

ahh ok. I'm not sure if the upgraded audio is worth this extra money anymore. I only plan on adding this HU, is the sound quality really worth the extra ~$400?

I just put in the cd3000 and it is the best single modification that I have done for the sound yet...in my opinion, even better sound QUALITY upgrade than the amp! Awesome HU right there
