im ordering a avn 5495 for my tc and i want to get the rear view camera. does anyone know if i can mount the camera in the front instead and does the car have to be in reverse for the camera to turn on or can you just turn it on when ever you want.

 

You can mount it where you'd want as its just a wire. But the way its made is so that when the car is put in reverse the camera automatically comes on.

I was planning on getting this soon...but not quite sure where I want to mount it. Should be an easy install. Just plug it in...tuck it under the door sill, and out the back area somewhere.

I could definately use this! Our cars are hard to see out of when backing up I think...
