Default Ed side mount enclosure and sub

Im looking into this to save some room.
How does this combo sound when the carpet is over it? It seems to me that I would sound muffeled or weak with two layers of somewhat heavy carpet over it.
I plan to use a MTX 282 which will give about 300ish rms.

I understand it wont rock the block,I just want something I can listen to that doenst sound like butt ,and at the same time give me some good bass.
How will it compare to a 10" sub in a ported 1 cube box?
Anyone have this box and sub?

Go buy some MDF and make a faux floor. Use the mat as a template, cut it, then cut off the 1/3 you won't be needing that covers where the enclosure goes. (Or you could hinge the 1/3-open it when you need it, close it to make it stealth.) Cover it with whatever suede/vinyl you want. Shouldn't cost you more than $30. (If you have the proper tools.) Save your OEM floor for whenever you need it. That's what I plan to do when I decide to run a 10" in the back.
