Default Emergency!!! Hatch won't close!!

Hello everyone I'm having a huge problem right now. Lately I've been noticing that my hatch was having a hard time closing. The door would be unlocked and I would shut the hatch and it wouldn't shut. Then I looked at the locking mechanism and I flipped it closed thinking that it wasn't aligned and I would realign it by unlocking it. But Once I pushed the unlock button to open up the locking mechanism it wouldn't open. So needless to say I had to buy some rope to hold my hatch down because of course this wouldn't break on me anywhere but 60 miles away from home. Is there any way to fix this that anyone can think of? Or shoudl I wait till Tommorrow for the dealership. This is a large pile of BS I can't believe that Toyota would make a car this shoddy in the interior . Looks like Subaru Honda or Nissan are knocking on my door.

lol.... i feel your pain brother...

i would try taking a small flat bladed screw driver and press the release button on the trunk as you simultaneously try to press the lock back to its open position... if that dont work... looks like you have a dealership visit in your near future...

I am sure the dealer could take care of it in a few minutes. Swing by and see if they ahve someone that can take a glance at it.
