Default EVERYBODY read I need help!!

Okay so I got my car OCT or 05 and it was an early 06 model. It was transfered to another dealer with a few things already installed by the previous dealer such as Leather, SCION security, and many exterior items. All of which are listed on the sticker price.

Well I had my D3 installed on Monday and my friend told me I really need to buy an alarm for my car and I explained to him I should already have one and which come to find out I dont!!! So I contacted the dealer and bought it from and whom transfered the car and they both laughed at me and said sorry we cant do anything because 1 I didnt buy the car in El cajon where it was transfered from and 2 the dealer I bought it from changed there name and now have "new" owners.

I went to ElCajon Scion today to verify in fact I dont have an alarm and they agreed I do not have any security and now Im at a loss. I Dont know what to do and where to start. Ive already contacted Scions Corp office and they never got back to me.

Any ideas would be great

fight fight fight......if it's written somewhere that you were owed that, then someone is responsible for it, most likely the "new" dealership because they were the ones that you origionally bought your vehicle from......if not bring it up with scion HQ and tell them you want that off what you're currently paying for the car......neways hope it helps.....

pretty much sounds like hes got it. If HQ is being sluggish in returns, push em harder, use other means of contact info and get this resolved. Also make sure an alarm is what your owed, the security might only include the engraved windows with the key eactivated kill switch. best of luck

Well, if you still have the window sticker, and it says security on there then you can go tell them to suck a fat one and give you what you paid for.

Without proof, youve been screwed. And theres no way you can fight it.

r u sure u dont have scion security? it not like most alarms. It doesn't have shock sensors, it only goes off if a window is broken or a door is opened.

And if u do have scion security you should have a RED blinking LED on the switch plate that says "SCION" on it.

Scion Security on the tC doesn't make any noises. If his does, he DOES NOT have Scion Security. If you have this (between illumination and fogs):

you have it, and if you don't, you don't.

On a side note, how did you go almost 2 years without noticing it wasn't there?

doc is correct. A lot of people have posted up stuff about thier scion security when in fact they didnt get that system. Most of them got some generic system the dealers installed. The scion security thankfully doesnt announce my arrival everytime I hit the button

Well I have that button but from what scion said is that twords the brake theres a box that is sopossed to be connected in a compartment and my wires are just hanging and it has never had anything attatched. Yes I do have that button next to my steering wheel as does my brother. From what the service tech told me is that the majority of 06 models came with that light standard

I thought it was just silent like my moms toyota but when my brother got his I noticed how much his worked better by the noise and when you try to open the door it makes a noise if its locked and such. I didnt realize until my friend at the car audio place told me

The Scion Security system doesn't make any noise when armed or disarmed.

When you arm it, the amber blinkers flash once
When you disarm it, the amber blinkers flash twice
If you don't open the doors 30 seconds after disarm, the car re-locks and arms itself
The panic mode will activate if any of the windows are broken or the door is opened while armed.
The car will provide a warning honk if the window is tapped hard enough.

As far as the typical car alarm chirp you might here from other security systems, it is not something that you get with the Scion Security system.

Whatever your brother had/has installed on his that makes noise is aftermarket. It might have been an upgraded alarm/security system offered by his dealership.

If you have the Scion Security light on your dash as referenced in the picture above, you have it installed. That light doesn't come standard (don't confuse that with the little red blinking like on your HVAC that represents your engine immoblizer feature).

In CA there is a two year "statute" for you to raise a legal argument. Outside of two years, you're SOL. 10/05 puts you within the statute.

If he has an actual button that says Security over it, he has the generic system some dealers seem to install, not scion security. Scion Security is just a light with a glass break sensor and actually says "Scion Security" on it as in the pic above.

Contact an attorney and sue. There will be no cost to you and Scion will settle immediately once you file.

so what i want to know. is the scion security system junk, or is it worth having. Take my case for instance my 07 TC came with no alarm at all, but i have recently purchased the vip scion security and going to have the dealer install it, did i do something ok or a big **** up. i see others who have installed aftermarket security systems is this because they are cheaper, better, or what

if someone has a scion security system, is it possible to upgrade it by purchasing a good aftermarket glass and shock sensor

The Scion Security system does have a glass sensing feature. If someone taps the glass like they are making to break it, it gives a warning honk or something like that (can't remember the exact words from the manual). Also, if the glass breaks, the cars panic feature activates (horn honks loud, lights flash, etc.)

I don't know if I would consider the Scion Security system to be a piece of junk as it does its job. It just doesn't provided the mental effect of hearing your car beep when you arm and disarm it.

If you want it to beep or chirp or whatever, get an aftermarket system. Im not entirely sure how much cheaper they are, but its your piece of mind.
