im ok with it not having the audible disarm or re arm, but when you arm and disarm it, you should hear the door locks locking and unlocking sound going off, am i correct, if it does then it does give some audible indication whether its armed and disarmed, and also theres the indicator light

i say go to the dealer, show them your paper work and demand your security system. if they laugh, tell them you'll contack scion corp. if they laugh again tell them you'll put your scion up their ****

so you have 2 separate remotes for your car alarm, one of course being the key, your set up sounds pretty good

thanks, the viper fob is a two way pager, it lets you know if someone is messing with your car, thats my favorite thing about it

Im a little confused. What are the major defferences your can tell from scion security and stock keyless entry? http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...&parts_id=1247 This is the system im talkin bout. Also is there any way to rig the horn to honk when arming/ disarming?

keyless entry simply locks and unlocks your car. if it was broken into... your car wouldnt do anything. rather than honking as with the alarm. i believe you can get the car to honk when you lock/unlock if you go to the dealer and set it up.

i personaly dont like the scion security, i just sold mine for $98.00..and purchased the clifford matrix 50.5x 2 way pager alarm, along withe the additions of the DEI audio glass sensor, back up battery system, and battery back up siren...this way i am totally protecting my investment...not to long ago i posted a reply on another forum about a friend who had the scion factory alarm system in his tc, and his car disappeared from the metrorail station, here in miami, fl., and still has not been found

I have also known of multiple people with high end alarm systems have thier car stripped in a parking lot. Bottom line is that no one pays attention to alarm systems, and if they do, most people will just walk away rather than confront the people. And by the time the cops show up, they are long gone. Sciondads daughters tC had the whole audio system ganked in a busy theater parking lot, alarm wailing the whole time and people all around. Gone before the cops were called and the description was 4 really big guys... no one caught for that one either.

No alarm will do a lot for most types of thieves unless you happen to get to the car while they are still doing it. If you have a concealed carry license (or just carry anyway) then that may be ok.. if not, you may end up at the wrong end of a very bad situation. The tracking systems are good for when they actually steal the car, but for the most part, people rob them rather than steal them.

If I upgraded it would be the compustar system with the long range pager.. at least I have the option of getting to the car if I am carrying :D

Then there is a flip side to that. Even with a concealed carry license, you have no right to shoot unless you are being threatened of bodilly harm directly. So if the thieves have b@11s enough, they will just continue to rob your car with you standing there aiming. However, they also dont know that you arent just some crazy guy with a gun that doesnt care about the law, so they will most likely run :D

But I would like to design an add on video system for it as well, so I at least have some pictures of the a-holes if the alarm is triggered.

Well If your talkin bout the factory system for $500, there is no way I am paying that much for the horn to "honk." The link I posted shows the scion security priced at $115.00 vs $500, for a little extra security. Yeh, I WOULD call that a good deal.
