Factory Navigation Question
I have on 05 tC and I want to get the factory navigation. I never got one aftermarket because I was waiting for this! Now that it's here I'd like to find out if it will fit my car before I spend all that money on it. I posted my question inside of another thread but it's not being answered so I figured I'd post it here and see if I have any luck.. I hope so. If not I'll have to try to get someone that works at the dealership to get me a final answer.. and you all know how that can be sometimes.
Thanks for any help/answers!

So you want the 'o8 Scion Alpine Navi? No offense but there are better and cheaper navis out there.
Anyways, yes it will fit. But you will need a different harness for it to work on the 'o5.
Lastly, you're going to have to drill new holes on the stock brackets so the radio cover can close. (That goes for any Navi HU.)

i dont know if it fits lol BUT i have it on my 08. its awesome...if its what you want, GET IT....dont let anyone push u in the direction of aftermarket if thats not what you really want! good luck!
you'll get it back in resale value....whereas dealers dont usually give you anything for an aftermarket, and chances are you'd pull it out anyway. like i said....its about what YOU want! It was all about convenience for me, there no way im gonna take a G into any place and hand it over for an aftermarket...MONEY would burn a hole in my pocket halfway there!!! added it at purchase, done deal!

And thanks to everyone so far for all of your replies. If any of you have any suggestions for the most factory looking and fitting aftermarket nav, I'm willing to take a look.

I have the Eclipse AVN5435 and i LOVE it. There was no cutting involved. The only thing that had to be done to make it fit perfect was drill new holes on the mounting brackets so that the door could close.
I'm not sure how much the Alpine unit costs, but about a year ago the Eclipse system cost me $990 off of Crutchfield.com. The alpine system cost TWICE that.
Looks like you got your answer, and if that's what you want go for it - but for my $0.02 I think you really need to think this through.. An aftermarket system will be able to perform just as well and provide you with more functions (if you spend up to the amount of the Scion Alpine you could get systems w/ HD space, Portable Navi's, Bluetooth, etc.) and look like it came out the factory unless anyone is familiar w/ the scion brand.

and either use an aftermarket harness, or cut up the stock harness so the SNS plugs in
Okay, I found the Eclipse AVN5435 as mentioned above for $799 (sale!) and I'm pretty sure that's the one I'm going to go with. It's still clean looking and has all the features I really need for A WHOLE LOT less than the SNS. I can also keep my radio door this way which is a huge deal since there's an ungodly amount of car thefts and break-ins in this city.
Thanks to everyone for their advice!
