bigger battery will only help a little

when the car is on it runs mainly on the alt, the battery still works but not as hard as the alt

x3 seriously you dont. I know people that run huge systems. All they have is big 3, better battery, a large farad cap, and they are fine. You really dont need a bigger alt.

I have a few friends that are into premium car audio, and they always scoff at the idea of a cap.

don't waste your money on one.

 

Yeah my buddies also dont like the idea of a cap nor do they recommend one. However they do say if it is needed go big or go home. Personally i wouldnt get one. But i know people that run 10-40 farad caps. But their systems are huge.

 

If you're going to run a huge system, a second battery would be a better way to go. Caps do nothing.

 

Yeah batteries would work, but the caps just feed them a steady power.

His system doesn't even sound that big. I know people that have a lot bigger with no cap and better battery. I had a bigger system in my POS neon and never had a problem for 3 years.

Yea mine wasnt that bad, I had dynamat in the trunk so it didn't rattle a lot. My friends eclipse is like that, pretty much has rattled it to death.

 

Yea my system is only 900 watts right now.. this summer im goin to 1200watts, with a custom box but i still wont get a cap cause everyone on the12volt scoffs at the idea. I'll be doing the big three the same day i get my new amp, along with a bigger amp kit. battery will be fine for now.

I got my tc fixed today and apparently the alternator wasn't dead. I guess i wasn't paying attention when i replaced one of the fuses in the interior fuse box (not engine bay) and put it in one of the unused slots, which threw all those problems... yea im an idiot.

but overall that saved me 500 dollars not including the other charges for more diagnostics and service fees...

but i'm glad its all fixed... i wrapped the remote wire in electrical tape as a temporary fix until i order the new amp kit.

 

dont think you need a cap, unless your pushing the system ALL THE TIME? 4awg should be fine, but unless its a must then 0awg for the power wire should be good enough with the big 3 and no cap. of course hopefully you dont have an excess of wires all tired around each other in your hatch.

 

any recommendations on amp kits?
