Default Fog light replacement

So... lucky me. I was driving, when what I am guessing was a rock hit one of my fog lights and shattered the lens Anyone know of a good replacement? Toyota is wanting around $100 for the part (one-third the cost of the entire fog light kit!) . Thought I would throw the question out.

Same exact thing happened to me. The cracked one that I have still works, but a small amount of moisture can be seen inside the lens.

A while back, I saw an auction on e-bay for driving lamps made by Hella that were supposed to be "replacements" for the accessory fog lights, but the lenses were blue. I believe that they are Hella's Optilux line, I believe the model is the 1500.

If the light is still operational, keep it. I will probably just replace mine with the Toyota part when it is necessary to do so.

Hope this helps.

Presumably, but try finding the exact same size.

PIAA might have something, or Hella.

Check your car insurance. Many policies have full glass coverage and that would be covered. I have had mine replaced twice on my other vehicle and the insurance just cut me a check once it was done. You will have to pay first, but they should reimburse you back. Doesn’t hurt to ask, good luck!

Thanks for all the info guys. I agree on the insurance, I am checking to see if they cover it under glass protection. I am waiting to hear back from the dealer. They looked into ordering one and said that they do not sell the lights idividually..... gooooood idea toyota/scion!!!! So now they are going to have to split up a kit and just price out the part I need. I still have a hard time believing that they do not make replacements, but either way i will get one from them or one of the aftermarkets mentioned above. Thanks again.

Don't let the dealer tell you that you have to order the whole kit all over again. I was told the exact same thing, but it isn't the case. More times than not, the dealer has no experience with ordering individual pieces of something that is sold as a kit. If that were the case, the whole fog lamp kit would be all one piece.

I heard they are the same as the Matrix fogs...maybe check eBay or local junkyards for a cheap replacement?

if you want OEM...iono what to say..otherwise,

hella optilux

or something from your local walmart/autozone/kragen/checker..etc.

it happened once, it'll happen again..trust me, seen it too many times. and if youfind the right lights, theyre usually brigher than oem anyway (pilot brand or cyberwhite @ walmart)
