Default Front component speaker wiring question

I have Infinity Components for the front. My component xover box has the following wire layout:
_______________________________________
| -IN+ | | -WF+ | | -TW+ | | -3dB. |
-----------------------------------------------

Which wires go to what? You have your pos. and neg. wires that go to the amp. Then the WF would be woofer? and TW tweeter? ..im guessing?

What exactly is the last one on the right .. -3dB ??

Thanks guys for the help.

I think its for the tweeter, my component set has a switch on them labeled +3dB. the manual says "We have added a switch inside the crossover to allow either flat, musical response or +3dB from tweeter if desired." I bet yours just has a different terminal instide of a switch. Just try it out and see which one you like better

well... as follows

amp in, woofer out, tweeter out, tweeter out... the negative 3 db is for personal preference in sound output... what it does is makes the highs less intense.... so that way your not choking on highs... usually i set mine on the lower setting cause you can always increase your treble on your radio if you want it a little brighter...

i ran them thru the door grommet. used a long zip tie, lubed it up a bit, taped an end of the speaker wire to it, and began to snake it thru.

Ah - yea - but i dunno. The factory wire crackles when you turn it up. Thats a main reason why I wanted to switch.

my speakers are amplified and its clear, no crackles... but if you want to go threw the door you could use a wire hanger if you needed somthing stiffer then the ziptie

just snip a bit of the tape away from the wires and there should be plenty of room to work with. i didnt mount my x-over inside the door so I actually ran two sets of speaker wires and they fit fine. if you mount the x-over in the door, you only need to run one set which makes things easier...

my sentiments exactly. good luck.

oh, and the zip ties I used were the thick, heavy duty ones from Home Depot. they are stiff enough to be able to work thru the grommet yet flexible enough to bend along the curve of the grommet.
