Gauge color swap: questions

Gauge color swap: questions
ok, so im gearing up to buy the leds to sway my cluster and hvac's colors. but im looking at the diagram here https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ight=dash+leds and im noticing that on the actual gauges (fuel, speed, etc.) that theres only 3-5 leds. now, what im looking to do is, blue notches/lines, with white numbers, so my question is, how would i get this look (taking the fuel gauge as an example) with only 4 leds? which ones are white and which are blue? or do i have to do something else to get that look?
and my other question is, what paint should i use for the needles? i was recommended Kustom Kolors paint but they are no longer operating as far as i can tell.. so what else can i use?

I few of us can sell you the parts you need.
On all of the swaps I do, I use Apple Barrel acrylic paint that you can buy ant Michaels, Wal-Mart, etc. I have a write up on the needle painting and other items on scionwiki.com under guides.

alright sweet, thanks! im gunna order what i can from garage1217 and see what i can get at walmarts and etc. now, 2 more questions i just realized.. i do need to change the resistors on the gauge panel too correct? and the odometer can be made any color just by changing its leds as well? (i know the numbers will still be black)

You dont need to change the resistors on the gauge cluster, but on a two tone setup using the film it will come out nicer. That is normally the only time I end up changing those.
On the HVAC unit, you need to do the voltage regulator and resistor swap to make them come out right. I have writeups here, on the site I posted above and on yoursciontc.com for that as well. There are some good diagrams to go along with it on here too.
For the ODO, you are correct that you can make the background the color you wish by just swapping the leds under it.

thanks. it seems fairly simple, just unsolder the old, and resolder the new, but im definitely going to use the DIY's that are around just to make sure i dont screw anything up
