Default Getting Sirius with stock pioneer?

I have the stock pioneer that is satellite ready but when i went to circuit city to buy the tuner to get sirius the guy said you have to get it through the dealer. Is this true?

If so, i would rather buy an aftermarket radio and get the tuner and it will all be cheaper than just getting the tuner from scion.

i belive all you need is this...
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-moLvkYL...0&I=130SIRPNR2
then you could use that SAT button on the head unit.
i have the sirius svone unit, and it works fine, but i want to go this way because less clutter with wires and everything

Thats what i went to buy at circuit city and the guy said they couldn't do it, only the dealer and that unit won't work........trying to find out if anyone has used it on the stock unit.

then what i would do, is go to the dealer and have them show you what you need to get sirius on your car. im pretty sure its that unit because the dealer wouldnt give you a unit like mine becuase it would cause more clutter. if it is that unit above, i would go back to circuit city, tell he lost a sale and he's an idiot, and then go to another store. or buy it off crutchfield.

Just found out it does not fit, went to circuit city's web site and it says it does not fit our car.

Has anyone found anything that fits?

the dealer has a sirius unit made specifically for our headunits..

you would think so if every car out of Longo Scion gets 9 free months of it.

My brother went to circuit city and bought the sirius unit for Pioneer headunits. He wasn't able to get it to work. I believe the plug for satellite radio in the stock headunit is way different from the aftermarket Pioneer units. Either go with the dealer unit, or go all aftermarket.

Thanks! So, that makes it $264, wonder if the install is easy....shouldn't be too hard.

Just installed my plug and play sirius until i figure out what i am going to do and everything worked fine. I just moved some wires around to keep them hidden and now it doesn't work....i can't win.
