Default Good Amp suggestions?

I have two Alpine 10" Type Rs. Its currently running off of a Sony Xplode 1000watt amp. Not really good, need something better.

What could be a good amp? I mostly listen to Rap and trance/techno.

And on some amps i see they are like 500.1 , 1000.2 stuff like that. I really dont know what that means. I used to think that the higher the watts are the better the amp is.. hmm not sure of that now.

he could buy my ZX750.1 for $175 shipped. it would give each sub about 430 watts. thats if his final ohm load is 2 ohms.

More info might help. What do you mean "not really good, need something better"? Is the system not loud enough for you now, so you want more volume? Or is the sound quality lacking, is the sound distorted or what? What is it you want to improve? Who can say what's better if they don't know what the actual issue is?

Ok, for beginners and in general I recommend Alpine amps. The lower series are reliable and affordable. It will also match your subs. Also make your the specs match your subs. The numbers (1000.1)- the 1000 refers to power and the .1 refers that it is a subwoofer.
