Default Good subs?

Does anyone know a good place go get some good quality subs? I've been looking for a while, but all the one's I've found have been pretty cheap looking. I'm also looking into selling my cheaper ones i have now.

suggestions?

Such as...? You don't want people suggesting any you've already passed on. And what "cheaper ones" are you intending to sell? Lots of potential suggestions, but dependent on your requirements...

I have 2 12" Duals now with a Dual amp. I'm can't remember off the top of my head how powerful they are, but I want to say the amp is about 800 and the subs together are 1100.

I was thinking about getting JL or Pioneer.

I'm a big fan of JL and Memphis.

If your looking for memphis, these are barley used.

You're almost like "judging a book by its cover". When it comes to subs, the prettier ones aren't gonna be the best. JL has outstanding subs for sound quality. If your looking for sound quality then JL or Alumapro is the way to go. I have an alumapro alchemy for sale right now, check my For sale thread in my Sig.

But if you're looking for hard pounding subs, then I would either go with Alpine or Rockford Fosgate P3's. Just my $.02 though.

Also, look at reviews on crutchfield and sonicelectronix, and it all just really depends on what you listen to.

What size subs do you want?
Where will you mount them, how much space will you give up?
What's your budget, how much do you want to spend for each, and how many do you want?
What amp do you intend to use for them (gotta make sure the load is ok)?
Do they have to look good too, or just perform well?
What's more important to you, attracting attention, or sound quality inside the car?

Answers to those questions would give everyone a better idea of your requirements, such that there might be some specific suggestions made, rather than just throwing brand names at you.

^that about says it all, size, power,SQ,SPL,and money to spend are good first things needed.

I like SQ setups and so far have found I love the sound from IMage Dynamics subs,Boston, and Memphis subs.

Did not like the JL subs, they are awsome subs but either the tune or crossover point on many I have heard was kinda flat sounding.....loud and clear, but sounded flat.

Elemental Designs makes great subs, they are a lot like Image Dynamics subs in sound and quality......loud and clean sounding.

What size boxes do you plan on using, are you gonna tune the amp properly, are you gonna use comps for front speakers or stock speakers unamped......

lots of questions.
