Default Grab Bar Rattling

sorry if this topic existed but it's hard to search when i don't know the technical term for it. well it's that grab bar above the driver's head that's rattling. the one right above the window. when it rattles, i can flip the handle down and it'll stop but once it's back to it's normal position, it'll rattle again. it's on and off but once it's there, it's very loud and annoying especially when it's right near and above me. does anyone know how to get it to stop? thanks.

I took my car to the dealership for a moonroof/hatch area rattle and they replaced both of my grip handles (which makes no sense). Yep, rattles are still there, duhhh.

I suggest getting them replaced. I know it can be done under warranty work.

Mine rattles. Gets on my nerves all the time. Since I added more bass other rattles hide it.

I have to say the TC is a rattle trap.

My pass. side one rattles. It's been doing it for quite awhile now.

I also developed a slight rattle in my seat belt housing on the B-pillar.

oh, that might be from your passenger seat belt buckle hitting the side lever on the seat. just pull your seat back or ahead to avoid that metal buckle from hitting the plastic on the side seat.

so the only solution is to tighten the grab bar down? it's a temp fix i see, but i guess that'll do and i really don't want to take it to the dealer.

You can also just grab the handle and pull down firmly.

It's a quick fix, but it seems to reset the spring or whatever is rattling in there.

Ive been having that problem too but nothing really works, its sort of an intermittent problem so it comes and goes. The dealers dont know ____, Ive been to two dealers 3 times a pice for that and the hatch and they never can say anything.

the dealer said they would replace it, but what difference does that do, unless it's a new redesign. not worth my time though. i opened it up and there's no screw or anything, just a spring and a hollow space. i'll try to wrap some foam tape around that area and see what happens.

If you don't care about the handles have them removed. I had the dealer just remove the drivers handle after they replaced it once. They popped out the pins and removed the handle and replaced the rest to cover the holes. That solved that problem but after that was gone there was another rattle coming from the headliner in that area. There are cables running down both sides of the headliner that seem to rattle and need to be secured better. The dealer did that also and so far no more rattles.
