Are you trying to get around the safety feature to watch movies/etc while you are driving?
Just do what I did and touch the wire around until you find something that works... then secure it on somehow.

I had my stereo installed at Best Buy.
The guy grounded the wire onto the handbrake, so that it would ground only when the handbrake was engaged.

I simply disconnected the wire from the handbrake, then while the stereo was in DVD playing mode, I touched the wire around until I find something that grounded it.
Mine is just touching some random piece of metal down under the cupholders... about 4 inches from where it was connected to the handbrake.

Ok I wanna ground the parking brake so I can watch movies while moving. Also I got two black wire ends, (one of the wiring harness from crutchfield and one from the wiring harness that came with the Double din!

Oh and that gold screw that I loosen that has a metal surface is that the ground spot. And if so.... Can I ground the three wires there? Or do I have to put together the two black wires and just ground the lime-green(parking brake)?

Another picture of install just put the wires together and used electrical tape to secure them.

You should connect those three wires together and everything will be grounded. The black wire coming from the crutchfield harness is connected to the ground that was the ground of the factory radio.

On a side note, only putting wires together with electrical tape will eventually give you problems. As the temperature goes up and down in your car, it cause the adhesive in the tape to wear out. I only trust soldering and heat shrink, but crimp connectors are also acceptable if used properly.

I have no soldering skills I twisted them and used quite some tape. Ill get crimps later and redo it. Ok just connect those three wires!

I explained how to bypass the parking break safety bull____ thing...
I didn't use any solder.
I used some glue and some tape. It works great.

Glue and tape!??! What the hell? This isn't arts and crafts...it's electrical wiring. You need to use the proper connectors (crimp caps) .............or solder if you want to waste time. But glue and tape? Can you take pics..I need a good laugh.

To answer your question Nexus...just connect those three wires together in a crimp cap and you're done. Like someone else said..the black wire coming out of the harness from crutchfield is connected to the factory harness which has a ground so that wire IS a ground. Connecting the Kenwood's ground and parking brake wire to that wire will get you what you need.

Oh..and don't leave the power harness plugged in like that with the bare wires just dangling there...that yellow wire is constant 12v and if it jumps over and touches the black wire or any metal, you're going to blow fuse(s). Be smart..do all your connections at a work bench and use proper connectors (NOT TAPE) and zip ties to keep the wiring clean. Match color to color...and don't hook up any orange wires (dimmer/illumination) as it could potentially harm your gauge/dome lights.

that gold screw is where is ground my parking brake wire for my AVn5100. works fine. I am freaking lazy, i just use tape to connect my wire.. But i twisted them pretty good , They are not going to fall apart. I work one other cars. They are fine for over 4 years.

But if have i am going to do it again, i will use crimps. because my uncle got a huge box of them.

You can wire up a harness faster with crimp caps than twisting and taping...I never understood the "i'm lazy" excuse since it's more work to twist and tape. And it's not that the wires themselves might come undone..it's that the tape, over time, will lose it's adhesive and could fall off thus exposing bare wire which could short out and create problems.

Either way, it's your car...you're free to do whatever you want and however you want. I'm just saying that the twist and tape method is not a "safe" install practice.

.

Who said it was arts and crafts??
I don't have a soldering gun, so I made use of what I had, took about 20 seconds, works like a ____in charm...
and by the way, in case you missed the info, IT'S UNDERNEATH THE CONSOLE AND OUT OF SIGHT...so who cares if I used super glue, a piece of tape, a piece of bubble gum, cement, buggers, etc.

Why would I take a pic of underneath my center console?
That would be pointless.
Why are there NO pics in your gallery? I can tell you're real proud of all that great work you do.
Anyway.... thanks for starting ____ in this guy's thread.
I'm done.
