had the courage to put LED's in gauges
after reading up on how to do the gauges myself i finely got the courage to do it. Everything turned out perfect. pictures are soon to come! only did the gauge cluster blue and white. I haven't done hvac yet. anybody in Pennsylvania area in led swaps feel free to pm me.
1. Remove them
2. Take the backs off (you have to cut off those two melted plastic bumps
3 Take the clear part off
4 Strip old paint with 70% isopropyl alcohol
5 paint the new color on
6 put a coat of white over the color
Some dont take them apart, but you will have a much easier time getting it completely right by taking them apart. They go back together easilly with a drop of super glue on each place you cut to get them apart
Alcohol takes a few minutes longer to strip the paint than acetone, but acetone will make the plastic foggy if you get it on other areas
I use the acryllic paint (apple barrel brand) from walmart or micheals on all the ones I do.
If you need info on the mod kit, feel free to pm.

Hey man. Good job on your swap. I did my own to. Wasn't hard at all. pretty easy IMO. I did my gauges 2-tone blue / white along with my HVAC and left the needles orange cause i liked the look. I had a second set of needles painted blue and tried them on but i like the orange better so i put them back on. Just be careful with the HVAC LCD screen. You need to desolder it. i used solder braid to get it off. Just don't burn the board. Came off easy as long as your careful with it and know what your doing. Just dont pry it until all the solder is off or else, CRACK goes the LCD screen which is not good. You shoud be fine though. I still haven't done my radio though. Not sure why though, im just lazy about it. I'll do it soon. As for resistors on the HVAC, They were also easy to do but thats just me since i've done a million of those before. They are tiny and can be lost easily if dropped. use tweezers and a steady hand. You'll be good. Later
