i was looking into hardwiring my radar, and mounting it higher up on my windshield, but to tap into the ciglighter and run the wires through the cubby seems impossible, also since the radar has a phone jack type plug, i was wondering if anyone knows what wires are for power/ground/ etc, the cord has a mute button on it right on the cig plug itself. can anyone help me try to figure this out?

 

Here is what I hard wired my 9500i with. It was a breeze. I just tapped into my subwoofer power wire and ran the phone chord through my dash.

There are less expensive versions available on e-bay and elsewhere; however, I think this type of direct wire system is the easiest/most user friendly system available.

that look exactly like the one i got for my Beltronic . Super easy to install. Just tap the power and ground wires to the radio.
