Default Harness and Roll Cage Question.

so i realized today that takata harnesses dont have loops to mount to a harness bar or roll cage.

i read somewhere that someone recommended getting them cut then sewn so that they have loops but idk if id feel safe with that. i dont want to mount any harness to anywhere on the floor, id feel better mounting it to a roll cage because of the whole spinal compression thing.

but i really want green harnesses. so basically two thing.

1.)anyone have any other idead on what to do with the takatas?
2.)any other companys make green harnesses?

you mount them to the floor at 45 degrees, that rids the spinal compression thing.

don't spend 300 dollars per harness on one that you're going to cut and sew.

yea thats what it looks like and ive heard that was acceptable because then the angle of the harness get taken from the bar rather than from the floor.

You can mount them to the child restraints in the back, Sparco sells the bolt kit for it for $8-$12 a piece.

yea ive read it before, but i dont trust to many things i read. haha.
and it looks like they dont have a loop hole for the harness to go through on the cage before they attach to the floor which makes me think that they might slide left or right on the bar and not hold u down all the way...

but the force exerted on the harness bar, thus the spine; is directly dependent on the angle the seatbelt is mounted.

like a 90 degree mount would serve more as a crusher effect than what you really want

i could be wrong though. i don't know.

ive heard that the safest is to have short harnesses wrapped around a roll cage.

if thats not an option than 45 degree angle to the back seatbelt mounts.

but i could be wrong too.

CUT A TAKATA HARNESS AND ILL KILL YOU!

your supose to buy EYE bolts for the harness so you can mount them in the back. at the end they have clips which slide onto eye bolts. thats how you do it. if your mounting them on a harness bar the have clips for that also..

NEVER CUT A HARNESS AND WHO EVER TOLD YOU THAT WAS A MORON AND SHOULD BE SHOT FOR SAYING SOMETHING STUPID!

I agree with Peter boy. I too will also take part in the killing of you whilst cutting a Takata harness.

haha, i read it on a diff forum, the guy said cut it and have a shop sew it...
which i thought was retarded because i dont think theres anyway that would be anywhere near as strong.

so pete, is there anyway that i can mount them on a roll cage?

dont worry you two.
i would never drop $400 for a harness and then cut it up.
hell...even if i got them for free. takatas dont ever deserve to be cut.
if they fail inspection and you cant use them anymore they should be disposed of respectively, in a manner similar to the american flag.
