Default Has anyone mounted passenger side cathode out of view?

The one major piece of negative feedback I have gotten about my car is the fact that my passenger side cathode is visible when looking from the outside because it is mounted on the plastic piece under the dash. Has anyone mounted this in a more hidden place but still maintained a decent amount of light output? I am interested mainly because my younger brother was kicking and screaming in the passenger seat, shattering the current tube and I really would like input on how to mount it again, without having it be glowing in plain site.

Thanks!

what you could do is take that plastic piece, cut a slit on it then mount it on the backside. i thought about doing it.
