Default Have in-dash DVD head unit with OEM cover panel???

I was wondering if you could still have the cover panel thing to cover your head units if you had a in-dash DVD unit? It would help out a lot from people lookin in my car to see if i have anything under the panel. If it can not work are there any mods in order to keep it there when being able to flip out the LCD?

if its an "In-Dash" then yea you can keep the door, if its a "Flip-out" then it either wont flip out all the way or you would need to remove the door.

In-dash will work. You just have to play with the stock brackets a bit so the door can close. Flip-out; forgetaboutit.

eclipse avn5435, no problem. Just drill 2 new holes in the stock brackets to prevent it from being too far back and too far in!

i have a flip-out dvd player and i had to remove the door. the problem with flip outs are that if u mount it in far enough back for the door tho close then it won't flip out all the way and if u mount it foward enuff to get the flip-out to work then u can't close the door. it sux that i don't have a door now but o well.

I have a flip out and the cover is still on. I had to modify the cover with a dremel tool to allow room for the screen to flip all the way up.

So to all the people who say that you can't keep the cover with a flip out, this is not true. All you have to do is a little cutting of the cover.

basically, but I did leave some of the door on both sides of the bottom. the n2 only has a 6.5" screen. If yours is 7", then you might have to cut off the entire bottom section. Definitely measure a few times before you cut.

Cool idea about cutting the bottom though, just needs to be done much better!! But i mean if you don't mind jagged edges lol then its all good. And its understandable since the AVIC-N1 and N2 are great products.

I wanted to ask those with these products what they've thought of them so far?
