Default Head Unit Install

I just bought a new DVD in-dash player. I have a question about the scosche wiring harness. I see on different post that are on SL, that say all you need is this and it will work. Do all the wire colors match the harness that came with my DVD player? Which one am I supposed to use and how much do they run?

most aftermarket harness will have their wires labeled, if not it will come with instructions which is which.

you dont have to buy the scosche, as long as its for toyota and its the right plug your good to go.

Generally, The wiring harness's wires will have printing on them as to what they're for (12+constant, ignition, ground, etc)... all you have to do is look in the owners manual of your unit to see which colored wire for the unit goes to what wire from the Harness....

if you keep asking question like this, i suggest you pay to get it installed.

if you dont bother to open the manual see what wire is which then i dont know then.

just look up the following basic essentials

power 12v

acc

ground

front left + / -

front right + / -

rear left + / -

rear right + / -

^^ agreed.... don't just go matching up colors, I've seen plenty of units who's colors are nothing close to matching the harness.... just pay someone the $40 and get it installed...

i kinda feel bad for saying this, but Dual is not a new brand, nor is it anything special. infact it is a low end, low quality, product. but if you want to keep it, whatever. These should match of with the other half of of the harness that comes with your radio.

(the radio) (crimp) (tha car)
[RADIO]=------//------=[CAR]
Radio Harness // Car Harness(scosche)

Wire Color Guide:
(/B means with black line)
FR+ = Gray
FR- = Gray/B
FL+ = White
FL- = White/B
BR+ = Purple
BR- = Purple/B
BL+ = Green
BL- = Green/B
VCC/12V+ = Yellow
Ground/12V- = Black
IGN/Trigger = Red
Dimmer = Orange
Remote/AMP= Blue

I think that's all...

But wait... if you buy something from best buy, dont you get free installation?

and to add, if you dont care about the radio shroud then you can use the same mounting holes as the OE stereo. if not you will have to push it back and drill new holes.
