Default help!

i was installing my amp and subs into my tc. we connected the remote wire through the acc. fuse and accidently knocked it out of the amp and my car shut off then came back on but wouldnt start and the radio wouldnt work. now my car wont start at all could it be something from us taking the power line off the battery and reconnected but not starting the car up right away? any ideas would be appreciated.

also we checked all the main fuses and they were still good.

I second checking the fuses...

On the other hand... what happens when you try to start the car? Does the dash light up at all? Does it just not turn over? Will it turn over, but just not start? Let us know. If it's turning over but not starting, you may have done something to the immobilizer. Let us know.

we checked all the main fuses in both the boxes, also the dash lights come on when i try and start the car. The car will not turn over when trying to start.

Fuses are most of the guesses I'd have... alot beyond that would get me bringing my car to a repair shop. I guess if you connected the wire to the wrong side of the fuse, you could have shorted it out pretty good when it came disconnected (and possibly grounded out). I don't know why that wouldn't allow your car to start though, most stuff through the accessory switch is shut off during starting. It could be some really serious damage. Did you smell anything funky in the car when you found this problem? Burning smells or anything out of the ordinary?

it sounds to be like your alternator may be gone

if the alt was gone the car will still turn on

it would just be steady at 12ish volts

It could still turn on, as long as the battery had enough in it to turn over the motor. After that point it would just slowly die down because the car would be running off the battery, instead of the alt.
