Today me and my brother-in-law worked on installing my compustar 2WSS-AS alarm and remote start in my manny trans scion tC. I have a few question about where some wires are on the car and what a few things mean on the alarm and if they're needed.
1. Location of the "parking lights +" wire? The tC wiring info says it's Brown + and top of fuse box 30 pin plug and is pin 29. We can't find the 30 pin plug. We see the 16pin 14pin 32pin 20 something pin but no 30pin. Where is it?
2. On the brain of the alarm it shows the wiring info for the alarm and say "2 Black (-)250mA Status Output" What is status output and do we need it for the alarm & remote start on manny trans? If needed where do we plug this into?
3. On the brain again it shows "6 yellow (-)250MA Aux1 Output and 7 Yellow/White (-)250MA Aux2 Output" Is this needed to be hooked for alarm & remote start? If needed where does it connect too?
4. The brain shows "Temp Sensor" Is this needed for the alarm and remote start? If needed where does it connect?
5. The brain again shows "RPS and knock Sensor input" Is this needed for the alarm and remote start? If needed where does it connect?
6. What dip switch setting should I use for the alarm and remote start for th scion tC?
Thanks for any help! My brother-in-law works for ford and does alarms in fords but says this alarm is the hardest alram he's ever seen. We have about 4 working hours into it so far.

well... first off.. scions... no wait.. anything toyota. be it scion, toyota, or lexus are SUPER easy for this kinda stuff...
when you take off the cover where your left knee usually sits... look in there.. farthest left is one black plug.. right next to it another... in that harness is a brown wire.. test it if you have to with a test light or DMM... its + so just ground out your test light.. and it should light up with you turn the light dial..
the status output would be either for your transponder box (the box you put your key in so that it will remote start) or for the relays your going to need to trigger the clutch so that the car thinks its pushed in..
for numbers 3 & 4 i am not too familiar with this alarm.. so i dont exactly know..
5 would be if you have a shock, vibration, or proximity sensor to hook up..
and 6 i... well... dont understand the question.. maybe cause its late and i just worked 10 hours...
lol... hope i helped some..

Thanks for the reply. I've been reading the12volt.com and read over 100 posts so far and found alot of info. For others that may come across this post here's what I found about what's not answered...
3. The Aux1 and 2 is for extra bells and whistles you may hook up later which is what I figured cuz that's what Aux is most of the time.
4. The "temp sensor" is not needed for install, it has something to do with cold starts which doesn't apply to me or anyone in warm climates.
6. From what I was reading and remember you could leave both these dip switchs set to off. Also I believe if you setup the temp sensor it's good to have these on but not to sure.
Thanks again for the reply and hope what I posted helps someone in the future. We'll finsh installing tomorrow and I have a feeling we'll get it to work but think we might have probs with the remote start and if so I'll post about it.
Thanks

The 12volt.com is an excellent resource. They give you all of the wiring info and have many pros on the site for resources. Just make sure you test your wires before cutting and always use a DMM (Digital Multi Meter) for your testing. Apparently a test light can damage some circuitry. Best of luck with the install!
depends on the test light..
if you have a crappy one from like pep-boys... yeah it can in more epensive cars... get a nice one that tells you polarity... mine was 60 from snap-on.... best tool you can have.. well besides your DMM

We spent another 5+ hours working on this alarm Sunday. We got the alarm itself working but have a few problems...
1. We didn't hookup the "trunk trigger input" and the "trunk output". That's on the alarm and on the car is trunk/hatch pin and trunk/hatch release. We warn't sure which hooked to where. Any guess?
2. When we unlock the doors only the drivers unlocks. Not sure what went wrong there. I think we need to re check it again.
3. There's a "2nd unlock" on the brain wire orange and black and we didn't hook that up cuz we didn't know where it went to.
So other than that the alarm it's self works. Now when it comes to the the remote start, we have no idea what's going on there. If anyone knows let me here's what we have for the remote start...
These all tie in to the ignition harness in the car
Brain ---------------------to--------------------Car
Red and red/white (both are 12volt constant)---------------- Red (12 volts)
Green/White (power to parking light)------------------------ Brown (parking light)
White (output to accessory)--------------------------------- Gray (accessory)
Violet (output to starter kill)--------------------------------- Green (second starter) (I think this one above is wrong)
Yellow (12v output sarter)------------------------------------ Black (starter)
Green/red (12v output to ignition)----------------------------- Blue (ignition)
Black (ground)------------------------------------------------ Grounded
There is also a blue wire connected to the brain on connector one with the above stuff that we didn't hook up cuz not sure where it goes. I think this is the one that goes to the clutch but did see something about second starter.
On the second connector on the brain we didn't connect these...
Green/White/ (-250mA light output) not connected (not sure if needed or where it goes)
Black (-250mA Status output) not connected (not sure if needed or where it goes)
Green (-250mA 2nd ignition output) not connected (not sure if needed or where it goes)
white/black (-250mA 2nd accessory output) not connected (not sure if needed or where it goes)
red/black (-250mA 2nd starter output) not connected (not sure if needed or where it goes)
Any help would be great! Here are some links to the tC wire info and the install manuals for the compustar if any can help.
tC wire info is above in this post
Compustar install 1 http://www.troniccomputers/pdf/compu...tall_guide.pdf
Computstar install 2 http://www.troniccomputers/pdf/compustar_install_2.pdf
I wish someone could post a wiring diagram for hooking this alarm and starter to this car. I'd even pay for it.
THANKS!

I jave the same alarm and started installation myself. However, in the CN1 connector - I don't have a blue wire. I have a light blue one in CN3 and a blue in CN4.
The light blue 1 in CN3 goes to e-brake for manual tranny or turbo mode. Check out the notes on page 5 and see if that helps.
This alarm is a pain, but your info has helped alot so far for me. I have some other info that may help from someone installing before on here.

I went ahead and had my alarm installed by a "pro". I still can't get my remote start to work. If anyone has this system or knows anything please help. This shop doesn't seem to want to fix the problem without more money (on top of the $275 i gave them).
Here's what's going on, I posted on the12volt
