Default help with alternator whine !!

i have been doing car audio for a while and really cant figure this one out ....i had a kenwood ddx7015 in my car for like 3 months ...amp for comps, and an amp for subs....everything perfect , i now put a ddx7017 in the car and get the alternator whine through the front right component speaker only...heres what i checked already

- Interconnects NOWHERE near power wire to amp
- tried 2 new interconnects, same problem
- made sure it was in the front pre out on the back of stereo
- made sure the speaker wires were connected at the amp properly

heres my questions

1) could it be a problem at the crossover ?
2) can there be something wrong with the pre out on the headunit ??
3) what would happen if i put the front comps on the rear pre amp on the headunit

thanks guys

I have some minimal alternator whine. I have tried everything under the sun. RCAs, new amp, new HU, new power wire...everything that you can imagine. sometimes, with a certain setup in a certain car, you will get some noise. I don't know how bad it is for you, but I have a musicians ear and hear EVERYTHING. It is a gift and a curse. Nobody else in my car can hear it, so for me its minimal and i'm done dealing with it.

How bad is yours?

well i know what yall are going thru! I had it about a month ago till i fixed it. My alternator whine was comming from BAD ground. I had it thru a distro block (which was a bad idea!). I re-grounded it here...

pictures from "Mandos"

ever since then, its been quiet! i did sand those spots down really good!

99% of the time it is from a bad ground somewhere. Either your headunit or amps. You can try running the ground from your headunit to the amp. That will get rid of it sometimes.
