Default HELP cant turn off electrical power

Just right now I got home.. took the key out of the ignition and radio stays on? I was like WTF?

I tried inserting and removing key several times and starting several times but doesnt help... I cant power off anything... I had to manually turn off the radio but my 12v powerjacks still have power.. and so does my amp.

Im assuming the problem might be in the ignition hole.. should i try to open it up? if so is there a DIY somewhere on this website..?

got to fix this asap

Did you just install an audio system? If so, did you wire it correctly for power (to turn on off with the ignition - use of the ignition wire) or did you wire it directly to the battery. If you did it straight to the batt, that's your problem

The 12v plugs would turn off regardless.

I honestly don't know what is wrong. I would try undoing the battery for 10+ minutes, then hook it up again, reset the windows, and see if the problem is still there.

In reality, if your on the east (based on your name), the dealer is open for another 30 minutes....tell em its an emergency b/c your battery will drain. -----but only do this if you KNOW that it is NOT something you did to the car as they will charge you an arm and a leg. If not, it'll be covered under warranty if your under 3year/36000

Glad to hear everything is okay. Hope that doesn't happen again, but at least you know how to temporarily fix it
