HELP! I can't get my car to start - something electrical!
I have no idea why my car won't start. I was moving my sirius radio from one side of the car to the other, and when I was done, the car wouldn't start.
I put the key in, turn it to on - the only thing that happens is the gauges sweep and stay lit. Everything else is no go... No blinkers, accessory power, anything... I have the sunroof open and it won't move either... I must have hit something, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what. I've checked fuses under the dash and under the hood. I went and traced my steps back through anything I could have hit, and I can't see anything obvious. My alarm (viper 5901) doesn't even respond, though it is receiving power. I checked this through a meter. It doesn't respond at all, however. It won't lock the doors or anything. It is a remote start unit, so that is the first thing I thought to check.. but I can't see anything...
Please help! I need to at least get the sunroof closed.... but I'm going to need a car soon!!

A little more info...
It appears anything that would work without the key "ON" works, except the alarm... When I turn the key to "ACC" nothing happens at all. When I turn it to "ON" only the gauges sweep... nothing else. No accessory power or anything. When I turn my key to "START", it doesn't do anything, it just sits as if it's on "ON". I've checked fuses, I think something has to be grounded out, but I have no clue. I wasn't playing with anything that would have caused this. I just can't figure this out.
Please help!

I may be on the way to figuring out what the heck is going on... but, I'm giving up for the night. I checked the starter killer relay included with the alarm... Normally the relay would be in the closed state... meaning, when you unplug it, it shouldn't make any noise at all... but, I just unplugged it and it clicked, meaning it could have a wire grounding out and tripping it. It's also possible the installer messed up when he installed it and has it on the accessory and starter power... That's about as far as I can figure it for the night...
If anyone has any suggestions, please leave them!

double check all the fuses. esp all the accessory ones and the starter one.
if you have a DMM use it to see if your starter is getting power.
check all wire coming out of your sirius radio and follow them all the way to wherever they go.

I checked the fuses... Nothing. I got a little further on the starter killer, but I think it may be a dead end. When I plugged the relay in, something was clicking.. I assumed it had to be that relay clicking on, however upon further examination, some relay inside the alarm was clicking on... What's strange is the alarm doesn't respond to anything... It doesn't lock, enter programming mode, or anything... So this morning I thought... hey! maybe the ground wire got messed up, knocked off or something... but, after checking, it looks normal. I'm out of ideas. I've checked everything I know to check. I'm to the point of just taking the alarm out and putting the wires the way they were when I bought the car... I really have no clue what could cause ALL of this. I've called the installer, but he hasn't returned my call... Maybe he does something extra to make it safer and it went wrong or something... I have no clue.
sounds like the alarm w/ remote start has died and not allowing you to start the car at all. Sort of a "kill" feature it's acting like. call the installer have them swap out a new alarm brain. I bet it starts then.
Here's an update for anyone else who may run into this problem...
After checking everything (or so I thought), I couldn't get it to work. I ended up calling AAA and getting it towed to an alarm shop near my house. After two hours, the tech found the ONE fuse that was causing it... It was a white 25 amp fuse... I don't know how it was blown, or how in the world it could affect EVERYTHING in the car, but needless to say, I felt like a complete idiot when he showed me.
As far as the symptoms, as I look back on my posts, I must not have been thinking right when I was posting... Nothing worked. All that happend was the gauges sweeped. That's it. Nothing else. No locks, no windows, no sunroof, no radio, headlights, starter... absolutely nothing. I was positive that there is no single fuse that could possibly control all of these different areas of the car. After all, I thought that was the point of fuses. If one part of the car malfunctions, and the fuse blows, you can still use the rest... Apparently I was wrong. Again, I still have no clue as to what I did to make the fuse blow, as I was just moving my sirius stilleto2 from one side of my radio to the other on a new bracket I had bought... I just can't imagine what I did. But if this ever happens to you, pull out and inspect every single fuse. You may as well start with the white ones, but be sure to check them. This experience sucked big time.
