Yeah okay, so I'm the biggest moron in the history of SL...I put my new alpine unit in, tuned up the system and looked for my damian marley cd...couldn't find it. Then I realized...I LEFT IT IN THE FACTORY CD PLAYER--which is now uninstalled and sitting in my living room. Aside from taking the whole unit apart, or waiting for a tc friend to swap out his head unit and plug it into his harness to eject the disk...ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEAS to help me??? its my fav cd...please?!!!

 

why not just put it back in your factory HU? If you open the factory HU, chances of the laser re-aligning is minimal. It's easier to just plug the old HU in and take the cd out. It takes like what? 5 minutes? I installed my Kenwood in like 10 minutes (with drilling).

 

You could carefully stick power and ground to the appropriate pins on the back of the stock headunit and press eject.

 

oh man.. that reminds me of one crazy install night... my friend did the same thing and was like.. F*@K it.. i don't wanna open up my center console... so he took a few wires... told me to hold it, and stuck it on the car battery... he pressed eject... and the cd popped out.

 

I think this happens to like 99% of people. Happened to me a few times.

Now this was stupid: I was cleaning my lug nuts since they were rusting a bit. So I used some navel jelly rust remover. I then hosed them off to clean off the navel jelly. Now they were all wet so I wanted to dry them. I figured I could put them in the oven for a few minutes. Took them out and they were really hot. I thought to cool them off I could just drop them in a bowl of water... damnit, now that was stupid

 

yeah, that was pretty stupid....

 

thanks, I think I'll try one of these suggestions, and if that doesn't work i'll just take apart the dash (again!) and plug it back in to the harness
