I dont know what happen, it happen during the summer, yep my Knu distro block melted, and my OEM ground wire from battery to chassis burnt up.
However, in your case, I would tighten those nuts down or re-strip pull back all the wires as far as you can so that when you tighten the nut it will pull the wires even more.
Get solid connections and see if your amps will turn off this time.

I hate that it was all perfect and then I put in this and it all goes to hell :-\ But hopefully I can get it straightened out on my own! Trials do you ever do the Friday night drives?

Drives where?
So yeah my Knu block ended up getting loose on its own, then when ever I would turn my stereo up the amp will cut out. No protection light or anything but power light is still on...it was strange. If I turn the car off then back on the amp will come back to life.
But lets hope that it is a loose connection that is your problem because that would be an easy fix.

If you are talking about this one:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...asc&&start=860
I'm not driving that far to hang out with 3 people and then spend more money! Gas is expensive!

Oh well, we'll do a drive of our own, down white marsh blvd and back lol
AHA! The damn ANL fuse in the fuse holder was loose! Right where it was sparking last night. I popped the top off and cranked it down hard as I could, sat there and listened to the system at higher volumes than it died on before and no issues... Wiggling the wires doesn't cause it to cut out anymore, and from what I could tell, no sparks! :D
I still need to get more allen wrenches from my dad to tighten up everything else that I thought was already tight, but what the hell, might as well be sure. But I just wanted to let you guys know!
And @tcguy: I LOVE the sub! It's soooo perfect for the music I listen to. However, on some songs that just must be bass heavy, it seems to overpower my comps...makes me wish I could turn the gain up just a tad on the front stage, but at all other times it's perfect. Right now I have it crossed at 55/63, sub/comps. Do you think there's anything I should tweak to make it blend just a little better with my fronts?
Thanks everyone!!!

Yea I know...and after driving with it, I think I need to turn the comps up some more. I want to take the overall volume up as well so I can get maximum signal-to-noise, but I just feel that the sub needs to be toned down just a tad for certain types of music.
Again, thanks everyone! And lemme know if there's any suggestions you have to make it sound better

he sub sounds great doesn't it? once you play it for a few days and it breaks in and loosens up you'll like it even more. the output increased a lot and it dropped lower after a couple days. it can really slam you in the back right?
have any pics for us? i really wanna see the box!
So, today I get my sub working and all is great right? So I go to get dinner for my family from work and while sitting at a red light, some _______ in a Jeep HITS ME! It wasn't a hard hit, but he just let go of the brake and hit me right at the stop light! My bumper has a little dent in it from his and some scuffs, not enough to worry about, but to add to it, the dude just drove off even when I pulled over! I got his license plate #, but I probly won't call the police since it's not worth the hassle...
Nonetheless, who does that when they know they hit you? I looked in the rearview and saw his face when he did it, "Oh ____" was written on his forehead lol

You heard of that before?
And yea I'll get pix tomorrow, it's too dark right now and I was too busy enjoying it today :D

But some guy on DIYMA also suggested reversing the polarity of the sub via my HU's "reverse" sub feature, said it can help make the sub and comps blend more...

what it will do is make the comps and sub better timed and more in phase with each other on one setting. and since the RSD comps actually make pretty damn good mid-bass you should hear it either blend or fight with them. def try it. i know in my case i hear a huge change when i go back and forth.
i'm really glad you like the sub! :-) keep playing it and it will break in and loosen up and sound even better after a few days.

It's gonna take a while to get it all perfect, I know, but I just can't wait! lol...
How do I determine what the dB/octave slope is on my crossovers?
are you using the crossovers on the head unit or the amps?
if it's on the head unit it should say in the menu. if it's the amps just check the specs on the amps to see.
take a picture of the box and post it!!! use the flash if you have to, i wanna see it!!! lol

Interesting, my PDX2.150 running the comps is -12dB/o but the 1.600 is -24dB/o...
What does that mean for me? lol
That I can cross the sub higher and it'll come up closer to the range on the comps without interfering as much as if it were -12?
I'm a noob
lol
And apparently, my HU can adjust the db/o on the HPF from either 0,-6, or -12. But the LPF on the HU can be either -6, -12, or -18 db/o.
I wonder which I should trust/use, the amps or the HU :-\

Well I'm not too sure the "reverse" thing on my HU is either a) not enough reverse or b) just not that effective to my ears. It did change, but just a slight bit. Sometimes more noticeable than others, but not better or worse than normal by much. I think I really need to tweak the crossovers a little more, I have the sub at 55 and the comps at 63 and I kinda feel like it's peaking in that range. If I set the LPF on my HU to 50, it's MUCH better, but then lacking a little bit in bass, so perhaps dropping it to 51 or 52 and tweaking my EQ and gains could help me out :-)
can you turn the crossovers on both amps completely off and just use the head unit's crossovers?
if so i would try them both at 12db, with the comps at 63 and the sub at 50. i have the same comps and sub as you in a box with the same tuning as you. that is what worked best for me after playing with it over and over again.
but now that i can use 24db slopes which are twice as steep i have both crossed at 50hz with the 24db slopes.
but in your case try then both at 12db 63/50
