Default Help with wiring Boost gauge light.

I am installing a boost gauge and I do not know which wire to tap in for the 12 v light. I have seached all over the forms, but not finding what I need to know. Please help.

what i did in my car is i went to radio shack and i bought these power strip things(sorry i forget exactly what they are called its been a while since i did it) i bought 2 one for ground and one for 12v. also i got the little metal strips that go on it to make it all run from one source. i just ran a power from my positive battery terminal to the positive power strip and a negitive from my negitive battery terminal thru the fire wall and then you have 8 spots on both strips to hook up whatever like lights or i have my indash grounded to the negitive so i can play movies while driving. let me know if you have any questions i will be glad to help. its not as complicating as it sounds.

Thanks every body for your help, I did a quick connect to the light in the center dash. So when ever you turn on head lights it will go on, and when you lights turn on when you enter your car.

Well I have a volt gauge which has 3 leads. One goes to ground, one to a constant 12vdc source and one to another 12vdc source when the car gets turned on. i just tapped into the wiring harness on my deck. One lead to the yellow 12vdc source, one to the red lead 12vdc source and then the black wire to the ground/black lead on the harness.

I just use the cigarette lighter wires. Comes on when the car does and turns off when it turns off, it's also meant to handle multiple loads because it's tied into the same circuit as the one in your center console. I run my boost gauge light and my wideband from that same source. I've also had a laptop and phone using the other two ports at the same time with no issues. A microwave (which would be cool ) would definitely blow that fuse lol.
