How can I replace my tC tweeter? Warrantied? Where to get?
Ok, here's my story.
Last week I put in an iPod adapter to my 2005 tC. Which I guess boosted the audio quality enough to let me see that my passenger tweeter is bad, it's putting out static on all the songs.
So basically I just want to replace it. I have no problem using the stock OEM tweeters, but I'm not sure what to do about it.
Would the sound system be covered under warranty where I could just bring it into the dealer and they could replace it? Or would it be an expense that would be better for me to do myself?
And if it's better to do myself.. where can I buy a replacement tweeter? And how would I even get to it to replace?

I should also point out, it is possible you put bad quality songs onto your iPod. Now, if they were downloaded from iTunes then there should be no problem. You need to see about the songs that you downloaded elsewhere or ones you ripped yourself. The iPod is not a high fidelity MP3 player. When people know how to encode songs they can get very good sound reproduction but the iPod does not use the processors for high fidelity sound.

It may vary by dealer, but the radio should be covered. Speakers are not really wear and tear. Speakers last a long time. Unless they are abused, it takes many years for speakers to die. There would be no reason not to have them covered under the warranty.

I'll have to put in a CD of the same songs and see what I hear. Most of it was Evanescence that I ripped from my CD to my computer.
I only hear the issue coming from that one spot in the car though.. I'll have to see with the CD, it makes sense.
I'm also having a similar issue with my tweeters in my '07. I admit I play my songs rather loud and I use my iPod as well. It seems that certain songs with a certain type of bass tend to make my do a kinda rattling like sound to them. I burned a mp3 cd and WOW does that SRT feature make your songs sound great. However
I noticed the rattling getting progressivly worse. Started with the left tweeter on a few songs, then the right started and now they both do it. Called the dealer and he said they would check it out and replace if it wasnt caused by abuse and of course I told him it wasn't...there isn't anyway they would know right? Hope you get some help on your issue though man, but I know the FM trans for iPods usually suck anyway. I think mine is the actual speaker as it does it to both mp3 cd's and the iPod.
That's probably one of the tC's many rattles you're experiencing. At the moment, i'm trying to find a way to rid my self of an OBNOXIOUS buzzing sound caused by the contact of two of the pieces of the door panel. I'm probably going to have to take it off again. Ugh.
Or is it actually sound related, and not adversly affected by the volume? (Meaning that it's there without crankin' the bass)
