Default how did u guys mount your tweeters in the stock location?

so i removed the door panel with ease but when i looked at the tweeter i was confused as how i would mount the new tweeters in the stock location. it seems like the stock ones are mounted via a metal bracket, is there a way to reuse this, w/o having to damage the stock tweeter in the removal process? thanks.

I am on the verge of installing new tweeters myself.

I thought about this too and have decided that instead of using the metal bracket, I am going to just drill the mount that came with the tweeter directly onto the door which means I will have to do some drilling.

I used the mount. I bent it around a little and drilled a hole through the center. That way I could mount the tweeter to the factory baracket and still be able to angle it a little. It worked out really good.

05FMtC, I used the stock mount like NoLimitzInc said. Just drill a hole through the middle and you will be fine. You and Me need to hang out, I'll help you out finishing your install and you can help me with my amp rack and trunk floor.

Step one, rip off stock tweeter

Step two, get 3m super adhesive double sided tape

Step three, attach new tweeter to stock mount

Step four, reattach tweeter mount if you ripped it off.

i cut a piece of wood the same width, depth, and height as the part of the bracket where the oem tweeter goes. then i drilled a hole through it so i could secure it through the notches in the stock bracket. then i 3M taped my tweeter to it. now the tweeter is close to the tweeter hole so you can see it.

yea i ended up doing half of the install today, and all i gotta say is DAMN those things are loud. i got jl xr 650 comps. just having one in makes the other sound like its not even on. and for the tweeter, i used the hole that the bracket was attached to the door with. the tweeter is not in the spot where its susposed to be but i really dont care b/c i hate harsh tweeters anyways. thanks for all of you help guys.
