Default How do I go about doing this?

I haven't had much experience messing with Scions before and I want to take out my interior A and B pillar appliques and try something different with them. Anybody know how to take these apart? I know that Scion parts are made to be easy to take off and my only experience is conventional ways of bolting and clipping trim pieces together, Scion on the other hand makes it so simple. So, I don't want to break something by trying to take off a piece wrong. Any help would be mucho appreciated. 2008 tC

well if uo got 08 then you have air bags....so to start

disconnedt battery....wait couple of minutes
to get apiller off pull from top of pillar....you will then be able to see behone the clips holding pillar for air bag......cut them off with dikes or hack saw,do not cut the metal pin they surround......then they pop right off....

For b pilars......take out back seat and rear panels, then seatbelt from floor......undo the two 10mm screws, and lift pillar up and then down to unhook from clips........easy enough.........

Thanks mate! Though for the A-pillar, the clips I'll be hacking off permanently, wouldn't I need them to put it back on and stay on?

nono..do not hack throughthe metal pin, just throughthe plastic anchor, once you peek behind you will see what I meen, the pin is attached to the pillar and sits in the plastic anchor, the anchor will come part way out but not all the way with out clipping the plastic anchor off,get a flashlight and peek behind you will see the pin and the plastic anchor holding it to the car.....the front I thought was black and the rear was white or vise versa......

just do not hack through the metal pin,if you do that you went too far and messed it up.

Okay thanks man. I'll check it out sometime next week. I pulled my b-pillar appliques last night and cleaned em up. Once I buy more clear-coat hardener, I'm going to spray em Flint Mica.

That plastic piece you mentioned, was it cylindrical in shape? About 3/4ths to an inch thick?

yeah kinda, there is one on the A pillars and the C pillars,it is about that size and at the top of the pillar, once you pull it out a bit you will see the metal pin that is anchored in it,just cut the plastic out, rotate the plastic to get each side of it and then the whole pillar will come out,you cannot miss it as it is the only thing holding the pillar in.......hard to get to,but once you get it out you are good to go.....
