Default How does the OEM "100watt Speaker Upgrade" sound?

Frankly, i'm impressed with how well the stock system sounds.. a little more oomph and power would be nice of course, how does the 100watt amp+Speaker upgrade sound? I figure it's designed to be plug and play and the easiest method of getting cleaner sound.

Any opinions? And no, I don't want to put in custom speakers, my WRX has all the custom speaker work and I really *do not* want to go through that mess again.

And how about the 10" Bazooka upgrade on it's own? I know a lot of people here are swapping the speaker out for a better one, but how did the Bazooka sound on it's own?

people say upgrading the hu makes the stock speakers sound alot nicer, and...
id prefer a bazooka bta10200 over the 10" bazooka factory option, it just takes up more space in the trunk.

when i had it i was really pleased.
the nifty box is cool on its own and i usually have to point out that that is where the sub is. and even though it may not look like it it is still very easy to get to everything under the trunk floor.

fyi, the sub itself can handle 100w but the amp inside can only push 60w max. it still sounds pretty good just adjust the various settings between the HU and sub and you get some good bass going.

here is the trade off:
oem sub- low sound quality and power, overpriced but easiest to install.
decent aftermarket- better sound quality and more power but requires a seperate amp and LOC.

my advice: get an infinity basslink, lower priced, more power, and better sound quality. plus it is easy to remove and has a better resale value if you decide to sell your car.

I didn't want to go through installing custom speakers and amp myself. However, I did opt to install an aftermarket head unit, glad I did as it sounds a lot better

most of the price of the VSE sub is in the custom fit box.
