How to get the Aux Input to work
I was wondering how you get the Aux Input to work so i can plug in my mp3 player...i dont have an ipod but i mean if i can just plug in my mp3 player and have it play thorough the stereo that would be sweet..besides the male to male input cable ...what else do i need to get it to work. Later i plan to get the JVC AVX706 so will i need a different setup. Sorry if this was already answered i didnt find what i was lookin for using the search tool
the ipod head unit, also charges the ipod while ou are able to search through all your music via the deck. vs. the stock deck that only gives you an 1/8" which will not let you charge the ipod (unless you buy your own cigarette lighter charger) and you will have to use the ipod to control all your music.. quite distracting as i have learned in the past .. lol

lol thats exactly what i was wondering..i was like hmm what else is so special about it besides the flashy colors. O well so when i change out my HU the Aux input should still work because or the HU harness adapter
The quality dif is like going from 8 track to CD. FM has so much more noise and distortion than a dirrect connection. Also, FM will pick up any local channels that are set near the same frequency and bleed through.

from what i read thats right. i have yet to ry it beccause i need to get my car back. but what he means is like what ever sound quality is on your MP3 player is what u get...it doesnt get any better than that. but shouldnt get much worse either
oh ok. As long as it doesn't get any worse. I was searching on this forum for more info about Aux in and I found this-- https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ipod+aux+input
Is that true?

I put my Nano sound all the way up and the volume on the headunit in the high teens/low 20's (17-24) to hear anything and that's with windows down. You might also want to look into enabling the ASL when driving. That way you don't have to adjust the volume up and down everytime you accelerate or stop at a traffic light. I have all the songs on my iPod at 192 bitrate.
Alright guys so I went to Bestbuy and bought the cord. It's a Jensen for $12.99. And yeah you do have to put the volume on the ipod pretty much all the way up and about 20ish on the stock HU. Not too bad but having to scroll thru while driving is hazardous!!!
So the cons of this method for me is 1) Turning volume up on ipod to the max, 2) controlling songs from the ipod, and 3) does not charge your ipod so you have to buy the car charger separately. Other than that, it's good.

#2 isnt a con because if u wanted to scroll through the HU then u should upgrade to the 6 disc Pioneer HU. So its like a tape adapter without the tape..lol. But you just gotta make playlist for when your driving so you dont have to change songs.
