Nope, radar scramblers are illegal to buy/sell/own. laser jammers ARE legal however. Therefore, no radar detector scrambles a radar signal. It is just that, a detector
Yea, undoubtably. They would know that you have a jammer since the radar isn't working. So unless there are lots of cars around to make the cop unsure of who it is, there is BIG trouble around the corner.
Radarbusters does explain a lot of this stuff and about active vs passive laser jammers etc. it's great information and a great resource.

yeah... i dont think im going to fight it though, just plea guilty with an excuse... because its a friday night, there was no one in front of me on the highway, and you know that late at night no one goes the speed. hah
It's easier just to plead guilty, but if you plead not-guilty, you can without a doubt get it reduced. It just depends if you feel like going to court. In NY, we go in, meet with the ADA, they basically always reduce it, the judge looks it over and you go pay it. It is always worth it here. I got a 68 in a 45 IN A WORKZONE. I got it reduced to 57 in a 45 in a workzone. It was annoying to begin with b/c I hadn't gotten to the workzone, so I was doing 68 in a 55, but in any case, I got the ticket reduced from 450 to 230.
Where is your detector mounted? They aim for the windshield and/or headlights. This is why it has to be mounted LOW.

In the center of the windshield or at the bottom? Move it to the bottom if it's not already there. You don't want it so low that the wipers block it, but just above there. Ideal place for laser detection. (I got hit with 2 lasers just the other day when I was driving from MD to NY. It was low and it caught it both times.
i use a beltronics rx65 but thinking about taking the sensor off and stick it behind the grill and mount the LED display above my radio, or maybe mount the sensor on my dash. I wonder whats the best spot cause its got another sensor for 360 dergrees.
I personally wouldn't mess with the RX65. That is considered one of, if not THE best radar detector on the market. I out performs most anything. To move the sensor may actually limit it's capabilities. Like you said, the laser is 360. If you put it in your front grille, your only protection is up front.
