This is awesome. Thanks for making this very well written and for posting multiple pictures for each step. I'm bookmarking this link so that I may one day do this on my own car.

There is a night and day difference. This clear has a hardener in it and dries to the touch in 2 hours. You can get the same effect with Duplicolor, it just takes longer.

i can't find any of your stuff brands.
i got all duplicolor stuff, but i didn't get the primer.
It Adhesion Promoter is also an invisible primer. So i think i skip it.

DO Not skip anything. If you do, then don't use my DIY as a guide.

Thank you Kennon for doing all those things for me despite of all the numerous and random crap that happened! Thanks for being so patience with the ____ty work station. I am absolutely 110% satisfied and impressed with the quality of your work (and generosity)!

My little sister wears that paint mask around the house.

My local paint store. I am there at least 3 times every week. They showed me how to make my own stuff. So whenever I go there I pay $3 for an empty rattle can or tin and make it myself....as opposed to paying $26 for them to make it.

You should see the crap I am getting in the interior thread and on clubsciontc.com

This site: "is it better to get dash pieces that might cause residue or just custom paint stuff?" Translation please.

Clubsciontc.com: "There is a HUGE portion missing from this DIY. Nowhere in the very detailed explanation does it explain how to get two different colors. Obviously you can't mask off wet paint. The beginning showed a gray center portion, and the end pictures it was magically black. It might seem obvious to the average person how to accomplish two different colors on the same piece (let it dry first), but for the sake of DIY, it would have been nice. I personally don't like "half" directions.

Otherwise it turned out amazing looking. Great job. Just missing a few steps in the DIY "

Could've sworn I titled it how to paint interior pieces not how to two tone.

Unfortunately I have my own personal opinion of SCION owners...sad, considering I drive one.
