Default How to weigh down back end.. w/o subs

Hey fellassss, i just lowered the tC on hotchkis/TRD struts
But my back end isnt sitting as low as it should be, and when i add some weight back there (With stuff i dont want staying in there 24/7) it looks much better with the drop of the front end....

SO, i dont want a system.. but do want the back end little lower! any ideas?

Thanks!

Do you know anybody that has weights like for like a gym. You could lay those in the back.

Hmm do you have like a box you could throw them in and then bungy cord it so the box doesn't move around.

Sandbags? Instant concrete bags? Dead bodies? Plenty of stuff out there. Although I'd doubt you'd want the bodies to sit too long. lol

more weight = slower and reduced handling.

Like I posted in your other thread regarding your springs... Check the specs for the actual height of the struts. 1. specs for the TRD struts, and 2. for the stock struts.
I personally dont know anyone that has put the hotchkis springs on TRD struts.....you might want to do that before you go lugging around extra weight in your car...IMO.

LMAO dude.... that is definitely an alternative..

I am a mechanic..... Im not positive, but I do believe that the TRD struts might be a little shorter than the stock struts...this might in turn force the TRD struts to sit closer or at full extension...therefore forcing the rear ride height a little higher...and would account for a stiffer ride that you mentioned before. The Hotchkis lowering springs for our tC's were designed to work over the STOCK struts...not the TRD.

^^ no worries.....if you dont have the exact specs or cant get them on your own...just call your local toyota/scion dealer and ask the parts department for the specs.

Ok, thanks... i might just add some weight (equivilent to a system under the floor) just to make myself happy... The front sits perfectly IMO, hence tthe reason i wanna lower the back.
And aslong as the ride goes, i love it... i dont know if you'd call it "stiff" but i know what you mean

I could do that too, but i think you hit it right on the money. Its still a 2 finger gap btwn tire and fender wall, which isnt terrible.

Thanks everyone

Even used springs that have already settled on one car will need to resettle on a new car or if they have been reinstalled on same car to new struts. It takes less time to settle again but it is not like overnight.

That's a super big "bingo" there... the amount of settling on a new car depends on a number of different factors....but they will eventually settle to the final ride height.
