Default HVAC LED diagram

Does anyone have a picture, not a schematic, of their HVAC with swapped out LEDs and resistors with labeling and showing what traces should be cut?

Ahh I might have a pic of the board and the cutting of the leads. I will have to check my camera when I get home. But the "diagram" engifineer drew up is easy to follow and he clearly shows where and you can apply that to the board.

Here

If you haven't seen it yet there ya go, and I will check for pics tonight and if I have them I will post them.

Yeah, thanks. I am going to try this schematic since it seems to be the only thing out there, but I would really appreciate a picture with resistor labels (ohms) and trace cuts.

I believe that is for an 07 though. 2007 is slightly different than the 05-06.

^--- that above pic is perfect. That is exactly what mine looks like. You still can't see the exact cuts of the leads, but the white arrows show where. all you need to do is get a razor and make sure that you fully cut the lead from side to side.

That is the 05-06 board in the pics. I also have kits with everything prebent and preinsulated along with nice, illustrated instructions for those that are interested. Just shoot me a pm for details. It contains more pictures and illustrations than my original mod walkthrough.

I may be able to offer a kit very soon that will work the same for both the 07's and the others. With less cutting and much cleaner. Just have to pop mine out and put in my test board this weekend to verify my design.

I've been talking with Engifineer over PM but did anyone else have the problem where their left side of the HVAC (AC,Vent speeds) didn't work after the conversion? I had to use a 330 ohm resistor on the back but am getting a 220 tonight. I think it's restricting too much and won't let the buttons get enough juice. (Not an electrician so that's my educated guess.) Also, the buttons on the left seem harder to push than before and also harder than the ones on the right. Could the mounting just be off when I put it back together? Anyone?

pmd you back web.

The resistor is not associated with the button function or the indicator light. From what you described in your message about the buttons being hard to press, I am guess you did not trim the button surrounds for the wiring and resistors you used. This will make the face not sit flat on the board. In turn, it will be very difficult to press the buttons in far enough to make them work. I am guessing this is your issue. Plug the board in by itself (no faceplate) and press the buttons that way. That will tell you for sure it this is the issue.

Thanks. I remember doing that last night and they worked, but after I mounted it all they didn't. I'm sure that's it. Do you have a pic of where to trim the buttons?

Its hard to take a pic of.. but if you look at where it sits on the wiring it is not too hard to see. You can also smear a little grease on the wires, press the faceplate onto them and it will leave enough on the plastic to show you where to cut.

did you use a little dremil to take the notch out or just a razor? I'm going to move the wiring around also. I'm going to try and position it in a different way to see if I can limit the cutting.

Is there another resistor i could use for the LCD LEDs other than 510? I can't find it at radio shack.
