It's a box...kinda looks like an amp?
I'm not a car person, the tC is the first car that is my own.

it is an amp... You've got the "upgraded" JBL speaker package. It's only available in certain areas...

 

Did you just feel it, or see it? My Sirius control box is under the passenger seat, but it's clearly marked with the Sirius logo.

 

Oh, I forgot to mention...I have the Release Series 2.0.

Kinda cool, they have this cover over it that makes it blend with the interior.

Anyone got any info on this 'amp'?
It's not even on the 'Inventory Detail' Print Out that I got from the dealership

 

RS... it's just part of the car... package... wouldn't have anything on there unless you got accessories.

all i know is that the sub is 6", hidden in the trunk, and rated at 35W max

but uh... don't you have XM radio too? that's probably what it is.

 

Ya i have an RS2 also, the amp for the sub is "hidden" with the sub, what is underneath your seat is the XM radio

 

I know a guy that doesnt have xm or a rs2. He just has bazooka and the first day he got his we looked around in it and he had a box underneath his seat. I have the bazooka also and I dont have a box. We couldnt figure out what it was.

if you go to the scion website, enter your zipcode as 33614 and build a tC, you'll see the door speaker and amp upgrade.. sparks toyota used to carry that upgrade package...

 

Looking at the other posts in this thread, I think you're right in my case. I haven't looked at it yet (just felt it), but as the only option I have is Sirius, that must be what's under my passenger seat. Good to know it's something I can remove once the "free" 9 month subscription runs out next month.
