1) theres a thing called a PAC switch, browse around the threads, there's hundreds if not thousands of them on this

2) depends on the place and what all your having them do, just check out a bunch of places around your area and find the good reliable ones

3) There should be one with the HU but if it doesn't theres tons of DIY threads on here and people that have writeups on it too.

4) Very doubtful since that is bypassing a safety thing and it could come back to bite them if you wreck and say they did the install. There's threads on how to do this by yourself too.

5) Not sure of the going price but I think its like 500+ or 700+ for the unit, can't remember, installation depends on place, dont know the price for the switch or mounting brackets but atleast under 100 bux for both. So yeah the biggest price factor is how much you pay for the unit and install.

Honestly, pls dont take my comments as being a smarta$$, I'm not trying to be, I just don't have all the D3 threads bookmarked so I can't really link you to any good ones. But just go up to the search bar at the top of the page and type in like "avic d3" or "avic d3 install" or "avic d3 DIY" it will have lots of results. Requires a lot of reading but you will learn so much from it all. Hope it helps.

for Ipod, model number is CD-1200

install should be somewhere around 100 to 150 dollars thats average around here in chicago, at my shop we charge 125 with parts

now you say you want it bypassed... and you want your steering wheel controls to work... extra parts, extra labor

i think someone wrote a install guide

i doubt the dealer would isntall the bypass mainly because they dont know how, and they would be at fault if you were to crash your car while watching a movie

if you could find the D3, pac steering wheel control, harness, kit, ipod cable, and installation of everything you better do it cause its a steal and a half
the D3 alone is usually going for that much....i will let you in on a secret.. the dealer cost on the unit is over 700 dollars...your easily talking another 350-500 dollars worth of stuff extra ...

I pulled this one really quickly. Not the best but since it's Nick06tC's thread and he just posted, I'm sure he'll help you fill in the spots you have problems with LOL, https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...light=avic+diy

the install is really easy. its all color coded. and the bypass is easy to. just take out the mute wire on the harness, put it to the slot atop of the one it was in. ground it, then ground the parking lead. thats it

I was looking for that link. Thank you.

Here is an additional one on how easy it is to take everything apart. Shows everything you need to do to get the old one out and how you do wiring. Its my old headunit, but its the same principal. If you need anymore help, just ask.

How's the bluetooth working out for you? My bluetooth unit will not pair up with my Verizon's Samsung SCH-a870 or my sisters Verizon Nokia 6315i. Apparently Verizon has crippled the bluetooth. The bluetooth unit will work fine with multiple Cingular phones. I'm thinking about starting a list of phones what will pair up successfully with the BTB-200 unit, similar to what is on the AVIC411.com forums. Any thoughts on starting that thread?

Its nice you mention it. I tried to do my Verizon Palm 700w with no success did my Cingular Razor and it worked like a charm. I cant figure out why it wouldnt work though. I was pretty upset. My phonebook wont upload for some reason.
