Default I just had a sweet bluetooth idea...help me brainstorm!

I'm always trying to think of ways to make things convenient so here goes...

I have a Sanyo M1 through sprint that allows you to listen to music with bluetooth headphones...

Well how nice would it be to simply pull your phone out in your tC and transmit music wirelessly to your aftermarket deck? I think it would be pretty neato...

Well I found this...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Class-1-Bluetoot...QQcmdZViewItem

it has RCA outs and receives stereo bluetooth signals...

It says it takes 5v to power the device, so is there a way to wire this to our car with resistors, etc without having to use an inverter? If this mystery gets solved, then it would be as simple as running some RCAs to the back of the deck, pair up, and viola!

What do yall think?

This would probably be better...

You charge this receiver with a USB cable...so that means 12v right?!

Is there a way to get a USB cable spliced/tapped to a power source in the car? ( I hope I'm asking that right )...

That would be great for people who use their phones for music. I listen to 320kbps quality songs though, which would allow capacity for 1-3 songs on my Razr.

You could probably attach a USB to a 12v source if you know which wires in the cable are for power.

if you look at the wires for the 12v socket its only the 12v+ground (if i remember correctly). and in the usb cables i think its like 8 but 2 of those wires is a 12v+ground. so get a 12vsocketchargerthingie and solder the 2wires (usb end) and your golden.
search google for the color codes on the usb wires. or just search for usb carcharger diy

and also if you have the aux port just get the rca2aux wire and you set music from your fone or find a bluetooth auxout
plus your fone also has to have a2dp support

well, my idea a few weeks ago when i was talking to a friend was to have a phone that held songs, which there already is. But this phone can connect wirelessly to your headunit, that way you can leave it in your pocket when you get in the car. Then you can control the phone from your headunit, like to change songs or search for a song, etc.

Either that or have a satelite radio thing that connects to a satillite, but with that radio you can search artists and songs and play exactly the song you want when you want. You can set up your own playlists if you so desire for your account and stuff like that. That or you could just have it work like regular satellite radio when you feel like listening to stuff you haven't heard before.

Not to thread jack or anything, just reminded me of the idea i had.

Typical USB = Data +, Data -, +5v and GND...

Putting in 12v would make for a nice smokeshow though... All you'd need is a 12v-5v DC/DC converter if you need 5v in the car. Depending on current, I've made a bunch that could possibly work. One does like 300mA, the other does about 1A. They're switching power supplies, so they don't really get hot. You could use a simple 7805 voltage regulator to turn 12v into 5, with a big enough heat sink those'll do like 5A. Cost $2 or less..
