I messed up my steering wheel controls
I took it out the other day to do a blue LED swap
The factory orange LEDs has some kinda eproxy that hold it to the circuit board. Didn't know this until I tried to yank them off. I tried to lift it up and in the process pulled out some traces as well on all 3 LEDs. The base where the anode and cathode of the LEDs are completely gone. I dont know what else was yanked off as well because it happened so quicky. I ran some wire in hope to get stuff reconnected. Now the LEDs are blue and turned on but the track down and volume down button wouldn't work anymore. The other buttons work fine
Maybe someone has a picture of their circuit board so I can see which traces I forgot to connect ?
I'll post some pictures later of the circuit board when i'm home. Thx

..
uhh.. you mean solder..... not epoxy..? yea... you needed to melt that before you took those off.....
that and there is a sort of small glue type spot that helps it stay down sometimes which is in between the pads.. that shouldn't have done much though..
hmm... i don't have any pics.. but you have to make sure the wire in steering wheel isn't getting smushed too.

I think I found the culprit. It's one of the traces that was pulled off
Here's the full size image so you can see better

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and connect that to the right side of the LED, hopefully that'll do it

For those tiny ones, I just got my tweezers and popped them off b/c my solder iron point was rounded a bit from extensive use. After popping them off, I melted the solder and scraped them off.

also... as i mentioned.. make sure the wires aren't getting pinched when you reinstall the airbag into the steering wheel... make sure to route the wires behind the plastic tabs as they were before you took them out.
